Good News!!!!!!!

Turns out the photograph of me on the previous post captured my last plane flight for at least nine months! Yes, it's true -- Dan and I are expecting our first baby Slawe in early 2009! We are soooooooooo excited. I am reading everything in sight to understand pregnancy and parenthood and my friends who are either parents already and/or pregnant now have been incredible resources and have been so generous with their time as I obsess over every last detail with them. Buford is particularly delighted that he is going to be a big brother and our families are, of course, thrilled. Dan has been just wonderful - forgiving my constant sleepiness and my bizarre eating habits (i.e., I ate five pickles in two and a half minutes yesterday and went to Baskin Robbins for ice cream and walked out with a giant sundae and three pints to go). The next few months promise to be exciting and interesting and an experience I will never ever forget. My friend remarked when I told her I was pregnant that motherhood is more of a joy than you can ever imagine. I am looking forward to experiencing the next six months and then meeting the little one who is a combination of me and the man I love so much!
